How to
The new Win98/NT TCPIP over Radio Driver (AgwTCPIP) is a true networking driver. It is a miniport NDIS driver confirming with the 802.3 (Ethernet) standard. It is multiport and can be used to setup a Ham Internet Gateway station very easy using your existing phone (or Ethernet) internet connection. It performs extremely well because it is a real driver and informs NDIS about its capabilities. The Ethernet cards have a speed of about 2Mb to 100Mb but packet is too slow. So the driver informs NDIS about its speed and NDIS adjusts its timers. This driver meets the WDM standard and so it is usable oly under WIN98 and WINNT (soon). The driver hasn't the limitations of the WIN95 Driver.
The Installation is simple and in AGW Packet Engine (AGWPE) help File are step by step instructions. You need first to install the driver (A virtual Ethernet Card called "SV2AGW TCPIP Adapter"). Then configure AGW Packet Engine and ready. There are no problems using this driver, in fact is so good that I still have the first version. This Driver must be used if you wish to setup an Internet HAM Gateway. There is no problem even if you have other networks cards installed in your computer.
The Installation is simple and in AGW Packet Engine (AGWPE) help File are step by step instructions. First install the virtual modem, then install, if not already, the Dialup Adapter. Make a new Dialup Connection configure AGW Packet Engine and you are ready. There is no conflict if you already have an internet connection with phone. Then you can use the driver as usual. Double click the new dialup connection run AGW Packet Engine and everything is on the air.
Due to specific WIN95 structure you must first run the dialup connection and then the AGWPE.EXE. Also at the end first close AGWPE.EXE and then the dialup connection. Violating these rules the results are blue screens(!!!)
It is very good to upgrade also to winsocks ver 2. It is free and you can get the files from Microsoft sites. Just do a search there.
